Sweet Voyage: When Ivor Met Noel

Banner When Ivor Met Noel

We’re delighted to announce an exciting event taking place this September – Bitter Sweet Voyage: When Ivor Met Noel. This one hour fundraising concert will be performed by Welsh Baritone Jeremy Huw Williams and American Pianist Paula Fan, who, through words and music, will explore the complex relationship between Ivor Novello and Noel Coward, as seen through the eyes of Olive Gilbert, Novello’s diva, muse and devoted caretaker.

Held at the stunning Minstrel Hall in St David’s College, just outside Llandudno, the evening will take place on Saturday 2nd September, start at 6pm and include light refreshments.

Tickets are £15 each, or £10 for concession, and we are expecting them to sell quickly, so please let us know as soon as possible to book your place. Please contact wales@musicinhospitals.org.uk or phone 02920 391415 for tickets and information.

We are really looking forward to what is promising to be a thoroughly entertaining event, and we’d be delighted to see you there. All the proceeds from the event will come directly to Music in Hospitals.

Lord Mayor’s Appeal Abseil Challenge

Margaret Knight Abseil

On 8th September, one of our most dedicated musicians will be abseiling down ‘The Cheesegrater’ Leadenhall Building as part of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal! Margaret Knight is a harpist, and so will be using her angel wings to help her on the way down, but it’s still no easy feat. Support Margaret here  through JustGiving!

Music in Hospitals has been fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal charities this year, and so proceeds from this daunting challenge will be split between Music in Hospitals, London Symphony Orchestra Discovery Programme and St Pauls Cathedral Music Outreach.

We’d love you to join our Cardiff Half Marathon team this year! With free charity places up for grabs, all you need to do is focus on the important part: helping to raise funds for our important work (and doing some running practice too of course!). All the money you raise will provide live, high-quality music concerts for audiences who cannot access formal music venues, and to create joy and relief through the therapeutic benefits of professional live music.

The Cardiff Half Marathon is Wales largest mass participation event the 2nd largest road race in the UK, taking you through the beautiful scenery and historic buildings of the city centre. The flat roads along this course make this the perfect race not only for experienced runners, but for beginners too!

This year the event is taking place on Sunday 1st October. To register your interest, please contact Hannah in the Wales Office on 02920 391 415 as soon as possible, as we have very limited spaces available. Because of this, places will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis. When you joining our running team, you’ll receive a full fundraising pack, with hints and tips for successful training and fundraising, as well as a free running vest to wear on the day.

If you’ve already registered to take part in the Cardiff Half, you can still fundraise for us in exactly the same way as you normally would, and you’ll still be part of the team!

You can download a Sponsorship Form here and you’re welcome to start fundraising whenever you’re ready. You can also fundraise online with a VirginMoneyGiving page by following this link: www.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/MIHcardiffhalf

Thank you so much for your support in 2017. We’re very proud to be part of such a prestigious event in Cardiff.
